Crea Por Chile
If you've seen the past posts and the Peru Chronicles you can see that we at Project 5519 are fascinated with international cultures. So when the earthquake in Chile occurred a few months back we were very concerned. The contest “Crea por Chile” sought to find concrete solutions for families affected by the earthquake of February 27 in Chile. Here is one of the winning proposals.

The upcoming CD, being released by Sony Music on September 21, 2010, will feature soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness— effectively telling listeners to Wake Up!
After being inspired by the recent historical Presidential election campaign of 2008, the R&B singer Legend and hip-hop band The Roots felt a need to enter the action. What started as plans for a single quickly developed into a passionate album representing change, hope and activism— not only referencing one particular moment in time, but on a larger scale, holding true no matter what the political climate may be

CAN WE BE FRIENDS??? Debate Corner
According to The Ladder Theory Men and Women cannot 'TRULY' be friends unless the guy is A- In a serious head over heels in love relationship or B- gay .... FACT OR FICTION??? Check the site out... I encourage you to look at every page in order and then you decide ....
Here's a bit from the site: Foundations of Ladder Theory
Before we get to the core of the ladder theory let's introduce a few lemmas.
Lemma 1:Every time you meet someone you give them a quick mental rating. Just how this is done is based on your sex, like so:

Here's a bit from the site: Foundations of Ladder Theory
Before we get to the core of the ladder theory let's introduce a few lemmas.
Lemma 1:Every time you meet someone you give them a quick mental rating. Just how this is done is based on your sex, like so:

It should be noted that this is not an entirely conscious process. To make it clear here's an illustrative example of what really happens:
• Bob Meets Jane
• Then Bob Meets Connie
Now the ladder theory description goes like this:
1. Bob Meets Jane
2. Bob sizes her up based on the above criterion
3. Bob puts her on the ladder
4. Bob meets Connie
5. Bob sizes her up based on the above criterion
6. Bob puts her on the ladder above Jane
You can recognize this has gone on because Bob says " I'd like to fxck Jane, but not as much as I want to fxck Connie"
I think that everyone has heard this or something like it enough times for us to accept it as axiomatic and move on. You might be thinking, " Well what about Jane and Connie?" We'll get to them next. ...... For more visit the site

Teenage Girls Are Recession Proof...
Interesting interview with Euro RSCG worldwide president Marian Salzman. Euro has done an interesting study on Teenage girls and their buying power. Specifically focusing on how new media and social networking has influenced this drive in purchase.
We at 5519 are huge fans of social media(hence the blog) and think that the next innovation in internet based communication and entertainment will be found on social networks. Web 3.0 IS OUT THERE
One of the 5519 affiliates DJB is working for Euro during the summer and had the pleasure of working with Marian. "Virtuality and reality have really blended together for younger people. They don’t really understand what we mean when we talk about seeing or talking to someone because they can see and talk with their fingers and via computer mediation"

GREETINGS,SALUTATIONS,WELCOME , WHATS UP, GOOD DAY...
We know we've been on a little hiatus the past 2 months but a few members of "the project" had to get their lives in order...including me! But we're back, better than ever...with the help of God, family, friends and loved ones we have made it through the first treacherous months of post-grad life. So of course here are the UPDATES!
Graduation Weekend:
Epic to say the least...partying at Lotus led to Rob P. missing his own graduation and the movie at LOVE nightclub turned into the most ratchet evening of our lives! Commencement was bittersweet because it was the end of an era. The place we had all met was now in our past. But we have promised to stay in each others futures.
Job Hunting:
As you all know the economy is in shables and people are struggling ouchea...including us. We went through a period of nobody finding jobs, Rob P. moved in at #FoTo and Ave ended up giving bone marrow to make ends meet. Esstxr moved back up to NY and J-Smoove's job with the kids came to an end. The ladies of 5519 ARE as usual ahead of the boys with Still Thinkin doing her thing in NY and Loob getting real managerial at The Gap. Rallo is hitting the comic circuits like crazy this summer while LaRoche reprises his role as coordinator of the Int'l Showcase for Homecoming this year. Dre is now COACHING for Howard Track and Rob P. is a camp coordinator for DC Park and Rec.
Peruvian Excursion:
J-Smoove and Esstxr took at post grad trip to Peru for two weeks that only they can describe as memorable. With no phones, texts, or twitter they were reduced to simple emails. Stay tuned for those pics...
The Future:
Project 5519 is back and better than ever with solo projects from J-Smoove as he starts his photography business "Tunnel Vision" while Esstxr is still shaping together what looks to be an epic visual experience for Howard Homecoming 2010 Dynasty. Loob and Still Thinkin seem to have a grasp on the post-grad life better than the boys and look poise to make that next step in life. Everyone has their own ideas for the future and are taking the steps necessary to see it through. While we are trying to maintain some sort of financial stability we still have yet to lose sight of "the project".

Blogger Appreciation Day
We here on the world wide web would like to think that this is a free exchange of information where fellow bloggers can share their creative insight with out the fear of being ridiculed, criticized or better yet robbed. But we all know that in this day in age that is not the case. But we at 5519 like to give respect where respect is due. So todays Blogger Appreciation Day would like to highlight the fine folks over at NSF56K: Not Suitable for 56k. They pride themselves on giving you vintage/classic photography that crosses the line hops back over it, erases the line then draws a circle instead...visit them and give them our regards. NSF56K
